Energos Force arrives in Stade, bringing new LNG infrastructure closer to operation

Energos Force has arrived in Stade, Germany, marking a major milestone in the development of new LNG import infrastructure for the German market.

The Energos-owned Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) docked at the Stade-Bützfleth industrial port on 15 September, where it will support Deutsche Energy Terminal (DET) as preparations continue towards commissioning.

The arrival puts the FSRU in position to perform its critical role in the LNG value chain — receiving LNG cargoes, regasifying the gas and enabling it to be fed into Germany’s gas grid.

The first fully loaded LNG carrier is planned to arrive in early November. Once operational, the Stade facility is expected to have the capacity to feed up to 3.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas into the German grid in 2027.

“FSRUs provide speed and flexibility. We’re pleased to see Energos Force returning to Stade as the project moves towards operations,” said Arthur Regan, CEO of Energos Infrastructure.

The project brings together Energos Force, the dedicated marine infrastructure and the wider terminal facilities required to establish a new LNG import route for Germany. Niedersachsen Ports constructed the dedicated jetty for the FSRU.

For Energos, the project demonstrates how floating infrastructure can provide LNG access quickly and flexibly, supporting energy security while new energy infrastructure is brought online.

With Energos Force now alongside in Stade, the project moves into its final preparations ahead of commissioning and the arrival of the first LNG cargo.
